DTS II Test Time Reduction – Throughput Improvement:

The DTS II will provide increased throughput in most situations. Capacity will be increased on existing testers by 15% to 30% on average. Results may vary depending on DTS users and product type. Following are the test results of a recent DTS user’s evaluation of DTS II vs DTS VME test times for five (5) devices:

Device # *Test Time
DTS VME
*Test Time
DTS II
Delta Throughput Increase (%)
#01 282 ms 192 ms 90 ms 46.88
#02 640 ms 349 ms 291 ms 83.38
#03 490 ms 319 ms 171 ms 53.60
#04 980 ms 642 ms 338 ms 52.64
#05 485 ms 310 ms 175 ms 56.45
AVERAGE 575.4 362.4 ms 213 ms 58.77

How to Calculate Throughput Increase:

Divide the DTS VME Test Time by DTS II Test time. This will provide the amount of devices tested on the DTS II in the same time as it takes to test one (1) device on the DTS VME computer.

Example: DTS VME Test Time (7 seconds) ÷ DTS II Test Time (5 seconds) = 1.4

In this example, one can test 1.4 devices on the DTS II in the same time as it takes to test 1 device on the DTS VME.

1.4 – 1.00 = .4 device throughput increase
.4 x 100 = 40% throughput increase
